Class Agents can also manage class web pages through our new online alumni community. We would like to recruit Class Agents from each cohort. Reunions for
Amherst and

Senior Sendoff
The Alumni Relations office hosts Senior Senoff events for graduating seniors to orient them to the Alumni Association and celebrate their final year at Medaille. Seniors are encouraged to join the Senior Sendoff Committee to assist with event planning and promotion. The 2008 Senior Sendoff events will feature a
Reception with Dr. Jurasek at his home and a
Bisons game. To get involved complete the
volunteer form.
Young Alumni Committee (YAC)
The mission of the YAC is to establish and enhance a mutually beneficial and enduring relationship between Medaille College and alumni who earned an undergraduate degree in the last ten years. The role and responsibilities of the YAC will be:
Supporting Students – YAC will help design and implement a program in which recent alumni reach out to current Medaille seniors to help Medaille provide a bridge to the “real world” that exists beyond graduation. Alums learn so much the first few years out of college that their mentoring would be extremely valuable to students.
Event planning for Graduates Of the Last Decade (GOLD) – YAC will focus on planning events and activities that are young, fun, and simple! The first event of 2008 might be a LEAP DAY Bar Night; leap years like 2008 have an extra day, so why not celebrate? Many have requested Medaille Night at a Buffalo Sabres game. The Alumni Relations Office is already planning a spring sendoff event for graduating seniors, a 100 Days Party in 2008 to start the countdown to graduation, and for the GOLD Tent Party as part of All Years Reunion 2008. YAC committee members are needed to assist with planning and recruiting seniors to help plan these events.
Helping to Increase Participation – YAC will provide input and feedback on ways to bring more alumni into the fold, and select members of YAC may be asked to serve on the Alumni Board to represent the ideas, perspective and needs of younger alums. The Alumni Relations Office has been actively recruiting alums to join the Online Alumni Community. Facebook and MySpace pages have been created to increase interaction with younger alums. A Young Alum Award is given out annually at All Years Reunion and suggestions and nominations are always needed.
Plan a Social Event
Help us organize fun social events for alumni. Social events are designed to enhance the link between alumni and the College. We can set up a community service project, cultural event, picnic, T.G.I.F. party or a sporting event. Let your creativity be your guide, and contact us through our
volunteer form with your ideas. Take a look at our
event calendar to see what we have planned and register online for events.
Organize a Networking EventDo you have an idea for a networking event for alumni? We would like to hear from you. Networking events should offer graduates the opportunity to build relationships with fellow alums. The purpose could be to foster career development, to learn workplace strategies, to discuss entrepreneurial endeavors, or to offer financial seminars. Use the
volunteer form to share your ideas.

The
Student/Campus Life committee helps plan and organize events with current students. By focusing on building relationships with current students, we can build a lasting connection to Medaille.
The
Career/Networking committee assists students and alums with career guidance and networking efforts. Alumni can help at job fairs representing their own business, help students improve their interview skills or act as a mentor for current students.
The
Admissions committee focuses on recruiting students through college fairs and alumni referrals. Volunteers can assist us by calling incoming first-year students to welcome them on behalf of the Alumni Association. Alumni living outside the Western New York area could host a “sendoff” event for local students leaving for Medaille.
The
Special Events committee assists the office of Alumni Relations with the planning and organizing of alumni-specific events. This committee also helps to identify and gather information on potential alumni award recipients.
The
Advancement committee works with the Institutional Advancement office on fundraising efforts. This includes advice on appeals and visiting with alumni.
