his shortened life, Allen Lee Downing exhibited a strong commitment to
excellence in education and community service. An excellent student in
the Medaille College MBA program, a superior design engineer at
Northrop Grumman and a proud Eagle Scout, Al lived life to its fullest.
The Allen
Lee Downing Memorial Scholarship has been established to ensure that
Allen’s passion for higher education can help others do the same. The
Scholarship will ensure that the fullness of life lives on for
generations to come.
FOR STUDENTS: Students aspiring
to become leaders in the business world, with a strong passion for and
commitment to the service of others, will have an opportunity to
receive the tools to achieve those lofty goals through the generous
support provided by all of the many people whose lives Allen Lee Downing touched.
Scholarships will be awarded to undergraduate and
graduate students enrolled, full-time, as declared business, accounting,
or management majors who have maintained an overall GPA of 3.0 or entering
freshmen with a four year, cumulative grade point average of no less than
85% or 3.0.
Graduate programs run year-round at the Medaille's Amherst Campus, including education, mental health counseling, and psychology degrees, along with the Accelerated Learning Program.
