According to Valerie Pawlowski '01 MC, internships are "more than just free labor." Pawlowski contributed a summary of her internship experiences for students in Medaille's Communication program.

". . . I had a pretty snazzy resume by the time I
graduated, and also had a lot of real world work experience.
Internships also give you a fantastic chance to network with
professionals — contacts that become very important in the competitive
job market."
