What is the most surprising thing you’ve discovered since starting work at Santangelo’s?

Santangelo logoThis industry isn't just about looking good on the outside. A stylist/technician can really help someone. When you are able to enhance someone's appearance, they feel better about themselves and a lot of times they approach life in a different way.

What was the last book you read?

Eat, Pray, Love. I am not finished with it yet, but almost there!

What is the most interesting thing on your desk/in your office?

A scalar scope; it takes photos of a client's scalp and helps us assess hair loss.

If you were put in charge of the country for one day, what would you do?

Honestly, there are so many challenges facing our country today, I don't even know where I would begin. One day would not be enough.

What do your clothes and shoes say about your personality?

I think my clothes and shoes tell people I am spunky, yet professional.

What is the best part of your day?

The best part of my day at work is when I have the opportunity to help a client. It's very rewarding to see someone leave here happier than when they arrived. But, even though I like my job, really, the best part of my day is when I head home for the night. I enjoy being home with my husband and our furry kids (our dogs).

If you had 10 seconds to give advice to a member of Medaille’s Class of 2009, what would it be?

The best advice I can give the Class of 2009 is to make the most of their education, don't just do what you need to do to get by and get the degree, really dive in and learn as much as you can.

If you had 8 hours free to do anything you wanted, what would you do?

I would probably take a nap, call some friends and catch or just veg out and watch TV.

What are your thoughts on the Buffalo area?

I love Buffalo.  I was born and raised here and I don't plan on leaving.  I think Buffalo gets a bad rap some times and I wish people would focus more on the good things we have here rather than what we don't have.

What is the most surprising thing you’ve discovered about your industry since starting work at Santangelo’s?

It's not really a surprise, I just never looked at it from this perspective, but this industry isn't just about looking good on the outside.  A stylist/technician can really help someone.  When you are able to enhance someone's appearance, they feel better about themselves and a lot of times they approach life in a different way.
