The Office of Disability Services coordinated its annual Disability
Awareness Fair on Thursday, April 26 at the Buffalo Campus. Fair.
The morning featured a series of awareness exhibits in the Kevin I.
Sullivan Campus Center that simulated what it may be like to have an
auditory, visual or cognitive learning disability. In the afternoon,
students, faculty and staff heard from Karl Shallowhorn, a certified New
York State substance abuse counselor who has struggled with addiction
and mental illness. He has a master’s degree in Student Personnel
Administration and has written a book, Working on Wellness: A Practical
Guide to Mental Health. Learn more about Shallowhorn at wowbuffalo.net.
