Medaille College will host the eighth annual Speak Your Mind & Shape Your World Unveiling Celebration.

Speak Your Mind & Shape Your World is a literary and visual arts magazine for Buffalo high school students.

The program started in 2003 as a small writing group, where students produced a hand-bound literary journal of their work. The initial journal was so well-received that Speak Your Mind & Shape Your World professionally published a journal every year thereafter.

As a sponsor of this program, Medaille College is pleased to officially unveil the latest edition which will feature work from over 90 Buffalo students from 14 different high schools.

Students from the following schools will be recognized:

  • Bennett High School
  • Burgard High School
  • City Honors High School
  • East High School
  • Frederick Law Olmsted School
  • Hutchinson Technical High School
  • International Preparatory School
  • Lafayette High School
  • Leonardo da Vinci High School
  • McKinley High School
  • Middle Early College High School
  • Riverside High School
  • South Park High School
  • Tapestry Charter High School

The celebration will include a student poetry reading and art show; the East High School Vocal Ensemble; and appetizer and refreshments. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. on June 6, with the formal program beginning at 6 p.m.
